The DVLPS area has a good provision of public rights of way, providing opportunities to engage with the Darent Valley’s heritage on foot. There are some circular and linear walking routes that use public rights of way that already exist in the DVLPS area. DVLPS will be creating some additional trails and any accompanying leaflets, audio files and directions to new trails will be provided below.

Whilst work on new trails is underway, here is a selection of existing routes to enjoy in the meantime:

From Hops to Lavender – a 5 mile linear walk between Shoreham station and Eynsford station to discover an ‘earthly paradise’ in Kent’s Darent Valley.

Otford Heritage Trail – this trail tells the stories of 28 of Otford’s village homes. Watercolour sketches provide a clear impression of each house when in its prime. These combine with the stories of the homes in a series of ten heritage boards located throughout the village.

Dartford town centre and Central Park walk

Westerham Walk – Wonderfully Wild Woodland – a 5 mile circular walk around Westerham and its surrounding landscapes

Kemsing Walk (North Downs Way) – a challenging 6.5 mile route passing through the village of Kent
